During a seemingly hopeless battle, Kara Thrace appears in a pristine Viper, claiming that she has been to Earth and can lead the Fleet there -- but the terminal Laura Roslin believes otherwise. Meanwhile, four of the so-called Final Five are forced to tackle the repercussions of their newfound nature, while Gaius Baltar discovers he has a commune of nubile female cultists who believe him to be an agent of the "one true God". Battlestar Galactica is back on the air for it's final season, and judging from this weeks episode it doesn't plan on pulling any punches. There will be no "Sopranos"-like blunders on this show's final arc. Get out the octogonal papers and tell the rest of the world to frak off, because this year of Battlestar Galactica looks to be the best year yet. |

In this brand new segment, I'll be covering Marvel's ongoing "Secret Invasion" event and keeping tabs on who's who and who's a Skrull. For those of you not familiar with this giant Marvel-wide event, it was recently revealed in New Avengers that Elektra (of Daredevil fame) was actually a member of the evil shape-shifting alien race the Skrulls, and had been for some time. Not just any imposter, mind you, but an imposter that was totally undetectable by Doctor Strange's magic, Wolverine's enhanced senses, and Iron Man's technology. Later, in the Illuminati miniseries, it was revealed that not only could the Skrulls now hide themselves perfectly, they can now imitate every single superpower on Earth, whether it be a mutant ability, a magic power, or technologically based. As the pieces fall together it's been revealed that the Skrull invasion has been in motion for years now. Slowly but surely, the Skrulls have replaced dozens, if not hundreds of people - civilian and superhero alike. Every superhero team has been infiltrated. No one can be trusted. The traitor can look like anyone, have any ability, mimic any personality. The Skrulls are here, and the invasion has begun.

Premiering exclusively on Yahoo, the new Hellboy II trailer is burning up the interwebs and has me (as my therapist puts it) in an "overly excited state bordering on rabid psychosis". In other words, I would kill, die, or maim to see this movie even a single minute before anyone else.
I was initially skeptical about the upcoming Hellboy picture, as it involves a completely new tale written specifically for the film by the director himself, Guillermo del Toro. Of course, that was before I saw Pan's Labyrinth, and before I saw this trailer. Now, I would literally walk miles over broken glass, barefoot and blistering in the hot Guadalajaran sun, to simply bask in the light of his countenance.

Once is chance, twice is a theme.
In both Eggtown and The Other Woman, the book Valis by Philip K. Dick made a cameo, picked from Bens personal bookshelf. And, as most Lost viewers know, nothing happens on this show by chance.
Valis is about a man by the name of Horselover Fat who, during a strange experience with a pink beam of light, begins to understand that the world in which he lives is a lie. There are also people who claim to be aliens and a two year old girl who just might be the new Messiah, but if you've ever read anything by Philip K. Dick you know full well that it's just easier for you to go out and read it than it would be for me to try to explain the whole thing to you.
However, the book itself isn't what has me scratching my head like some B-Movie scientist...
...it's how the book came to be.

LOST Meet Kevin Johnson aka: "5 weeks of ripping my hair out" by Peter SorensenIn the eighth episode of Season Four, the complete and total mindf**k continues. Sayid confronts Michael (now going by Kevin Johnson) about his time away from the island and we learn where Walt is, how Michael got on the freighter crew, what his mission is, and most importantly: why he's working for Ben.
Now I know why they wanted to break off the story arc with this weeks episode: they are subtly trying to drive me insane with anticipation.
Aboard the freighter, Sayid and Desmond witness the captain "going WWE" on a pair of deserting crewmembers and decide to confront Michael for some answers. Ok, technically Sayid confronts Michael. Desmond just kinda sits around in the background with a "huhwha?" look on his face the whole time.
When asked why he's on the boat Michael responds "I'm here to die". Wow, who could have guessed that Michael would turn emo in his time off the island? |
