![]() BloodyDisgusting.com is reporting today that Columbia Pictures is officially looking for writers to pen the sequel to the dismal 2007 "film" (and I use that term loosely in this case) Ghost Rider and that Nicolas Cage is in fact attached and signed on to return. Um... why? Did they not do a good enough job ruining the franchise last time? This is a perfect example of what's really wrong in Hollywood today: yes, the film was terrible and universally panned by critics and fans alike... but it made $116 million at box office (because people will watch anything) therefore BINGO! Sequel! Why bother to make good films when you can make bad movies and get rich off of them? Hell, Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer have made their careers that way. And Nic Cage - what are you doing with your life, man? Do us all a favor and fire your agent. These movies don't need to be made, and if they are - they don't need a big name like yours attached. Let them hire Jason Priestly instead and air it on SciFi at 3am where they belong. As with any Nicholas Cage movie, I'll have to wait until the first images and trailers get released before assigning it a "CHI Level": GEEKTIONARY Based upon the last movie, and knowing that the majority of sequels are worse than their predecessors, I can only assume that Nic Cage's hairstyle in Ghost Rider 2 is going to be something along the lines of this: ![]() Oh yeah, it's going to be bad.
