| Speed Racer Explodes With 2 New Trailers! |

 Helmed by the Wachowski Brothers (Wachowski Siblings, if you believe the internet rumors ) and shot using state-of-the-art digital technology to create a more cartoon-ish look, Speed Racer is one of the most highly anticipated films of the upcoming year. The trailers have drawn mixed emotions from fans of the show and of the filmmakers, some showering praise on the new look and style, others saying that it looks like a "big fat steaming dump of a movie". And while I may still be clinging on in the former group, this movie does have a growing "craptastic" feel to it. The "dramatic" trailer for Speed Racer: Get Flash to see this player.

It's definitely a Wachowski movie, through and through. The use of color, composition, insane angles and wraparound shots are something that we've grown accustomed to thanks to the Matrix, but can they pull off something new? I'm absolutely in love with the bright vivid color choices they've made and besides looking a little too CG (which I think is intentional) the movie looks so gorgeous that I want to dip it in chocolate and eat it. I do have to say, though, that I'm not real impressed with Matthew Fox in the adrenaline trailer. I know that Racer X is all mysterious and dark and all, but Fox just makes him sound boring. I half expected him to start spitting out Stephen Wright one-liners or nodding off at the wheel. Look for Speed Racer to hit US theaters in May of this year. Have the Wachowski's done it again?
