Lost Experience: Octagon Global Recruiting Wants You!
Thursday, 19 June 2008
Octagon Global Recruiting Logo
I woke up and went about my normal everyday routine: showered, shaved, brushed my teeth, dressed, ate, fed the ravenous horde of cybernetic monkey minions I've been designing in my basement, calibrated and re-aligned the sonic amplifier I currently have aimed at the concrete foundation of my neighbors house in an effort to drive him slowly insane with the subtle vibration and hum, recorded the changes in blood sugar level of my genetic-testing rats, filled the saline bags of the human slaves I have tethered to the giant underground donkey wheel that powers my home, put on my tinfoil hat (with matching tie because I'm fashion forward), and left for work.

But then something unusual happened.

I arrived at work to find an email from Octagon Global Recruitment, a division of the Dharma Initiative, informing me of an opportunity to join their ranks. That's right, it's "Lost Experience" time again...

Lost Season 4 FinaleLOST
There's No Place Like Home (part 2 and 3)
aka: "The Frozen Donkey Wheel"
by Peter Sorensen

In the two-hour season finale of Season Four, Ben and Locke continue their task of "moving the island" while Jack and Co. try their hardest to get off the island. Mysteries are revealed, more are created, people die, people survive, and all hell breaks loose in the best season finale yet. Rest in peace,  Jeremy Bentham.

I just finished watching the two-hour season finale Lost: Season Four, and I have to say one simple thing: all those destroyed TVs littering my neighborhood from my Lost-deprived rampage last week were totally, totally worth it.

F**k Grey's Anatomy, they got nothing on Lost.

There were so many points during tonight's episode that had me leaping out of my chair, screaming at the top of my lungs, dancing a caffeine-laced ecstatic fanboy jig, howling and making rapid fist pumps into midair while screaming like a ninja... well, let's just say my living room is a little worse for wear now. I think I may need a new couch.

LOST: Pre-Finale Theory
Thursday, 29 May 2008

I posted this around 3pm this afternoon to give people a little food for thought. Little did I know I'd spoil the entire finale for myself in the process.

WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS! DON'T READ THIS UNTIL YOU'VE SEEN THE EPISODE!

LOST: There's No Place Like Home, Part 1

There's No Place Like Home (part 1)
aka: "The calm before the sh**storm"
by Peter Sorensen

In the eleventh episode of Season Four, the face-off between the Losties and the mercenaries from the freighter ignites. Jack follows the sat phone into the jungle while Sayid rushes to get people off the island. In flashforwards we see the Oceanic Six return to civilization and begin to put their lives back together.

*loud booming voice* IT BEGINS! *end of booming voice*

The first of the three-part season finale is over now, and I want to run screaming through the hills because it will be two more weeks before Lost returns. Why, television gods, WHHHhhhhyyy!?!? On a related note, I plan to spend next Thursday wandering my neighborhood and smashing any television that has Grey's Anatomy on. Take that, poorly written hospital drama! That's what you get for messing with my Lost timeslot!

LOST: Cabin Fever

Cabin Fever
aka: "John Locke: This is your life"
by Peter Sorensen

In the eleventh episode of Season Four, Locke takes Hurley and Ben on a quick pit stop (literally) before finding Jacob's cabin. Keamy returns to the boat, sunny disposition intact, life aboard the freighter becomes increasingly perilous, and no one tells Locke what he can't... well, you know the rest.

Recovering from the emo-liciously bad episode last week took some doing, but man am I glad we had this episode to follow it up. It's an unwritten rule that any Hurley or Locke-centric episode is going to kick some cinematic ass, and this week did not disappoint.

Chock full of self-referential scenes and sneaky easter eggs-a-plenty, this week's episode also returned to the classic "flashback" formula, showing us the life and times of John B. Locke (the "B" stands for Buttercup).

LOST: Something Nice Back Home

Something Nice Back Home
aka: "Charlie Brown Syndrome Attacks!"
by Peter Sorensen

In the tenth episode of Season Four, Jacks health is seriously comprimised, forcing Juliet and Kate to work together to save him. Something goes terribly wrong as Sawyer, Claire, Aaron and Miles make their trek back to the beach from Locke's camp. Also, Jack mopes. A lot.

It had to happen.

After being on the receiving end of a cyclonic 1-2-Vaughn/Goddard knock-out punch of an episode last week, I knew that there would be no possible way to follow that up and that I would undoubtedly leave this week's episode feeling let down and disappointed. Sufficed to say, I hate being right sometimes.
