Four Months Ago
aka: "Maya's guide to peaceful conflict resolution"
by Peter Sorensen

In the eighth episode of season 2, the missing months between Season One and Season Two are finally filled in. Niki gets her Studio 54 action on, DL goes out like a punk, Peter Petrelli spends a lot of time in a little locked room of love and Nathan Petrelli masters his TwoFace impression.

It was amazing. It was stupendous. It was awe-inspiring. It was...

Ok, I'm sorry: it was a lot of people sitting around in a lot of rooms.

Not exactly the dangerous and exciting past shrouded in mystery that I hoped it would be, but then again, when is any show as good as I hope it will be?

Maybe I'm just being pessimistic.

Out of Time
aka: "Running out of time to explain this lame plot"
by Peter Sorensen

In the seventh episode of season 2, we finally get to see one measly little swordfight; Peter Petrelli goes back to the future, but forgets to bring Doc Brown; Nathan, Nikki, Bob, Parkman, Mohinder, Molly, Maury, and D.L. (yes, even D.L.) all join together in one giant clusterf**k of an episode, and the West/Claire romance takes one step closer to the Fatal Attraction moment we're all silently hoping for.

Newton's third law states that for every action there must exist an equal and opposite reaction.

For instance, when a bird flies, it's wings push down on the air around it. In return, the airpushes upwards against the bird's wings, keeping the bird in flight.

Or, for a better example, when a television show spends six whole episodes of it's second season taking the absolute longest time possible to develop any kind of action or story, the remaining episodes must compensate (or react) by cramming all the necessary action and story into a very short amount of time.

Welcome to Newton's Third Law of Television.

The Heroes Killer Revealed!
aka: "Thank God for Photoshop"
by Peter Sorensen

That's right, baby! I know who the Heroes Killer is!

More importantly, I have proof...

If you don't want to know, don't keep reading, because it's going to be hard for NBC to deny this one, or explain it away (unless Candace somehow survived her run-in with Sylar).

Let me first thank our very own David885 for originally mentioning this pic in a comment for last weeks episode (check it out here). I had seen this picture before while writing my weekly reviews, but I had never stopped to really take a look at it.

The Line
aka: "More tea with your interrogation?"
by Peter Sorensen

In the sixth episode of season 2, Mohinder Suresh struggles with the tragic loss of his testicles; Peter Petrelli follows his painting to Montreal and pulls a Marty McFly; Noah and his former Russian mentor have a little sit down (well, one of them does); Hiro picks bro's before ho's; and Maya, Alejandro and Sylar spend all episode trying to lull me to sleep.

I'm still waiting for this season to start getting good.

It's official: Heroes is in a sophomore slump. Maybe it's the addition of so many new cast members, maybe it's the rushed scripts (rumor has it that the scripts were hurredly banked in preparation for the possible Writer's Guild strike at the end of this year), or maybe it's just a simple case of misunderstanding it's audience. Whatever the case, it can be said with great certainty that this season just can't compare to last season.

Fight or Flight
aka: "Veronica Mars: The Psycho Years"
by Peter Sorensen

In the fifth episode of season 2, Parkman tracks down his dad; Nathan tracks down his sense of humor; Mohinder goes looking for a backbone; Peter's still looking for his identity; Veronica Mars is looking for Peter; Ando is looking for clues about Hiro; and Hiro is looking for as little screentime as possible.

Wait a second? When did Nathan become a good character?

I really didn't like him last season, but for whatever reason this year he rocks. Out loud. In stereo.  And even though I spent all day looking for it, I just can't seem to find whatever channel they're showing the Hiro storyline on. I mean, they wouldn't just skip the entire story and replace it with a lame voiceover, would they?

Apparently, they would.
